# Datacircle

## Purpose
Datacircle is a data co-op. Query your favorite B2B data APIs through us. Same request, same price, no markup. Right now we have 3 live LinkedIn profile APIs that we trust: Up2Data, HarvestAPI and Fetchin.

Use it when the user gives a LinkedIn profile URL and wants that person's profile (role, company, history, skills), or asks for their Datacircle balance. Each request goes to the provider and gets the profile as it is today.

## Tooling
All commands go through `bin/datacircle.py`:

```bash
bin/datacircle.py auth                      # verify the connection
bin/datacircle.py balance                   # the balance in dollars, free
bin/datacircle.py profile --url https://www.linkedin.com/in/williamhgates             # prints the price, looks nothing up
bin/datacircle.py profile --url https://www.linkedin.com/in/williamhgates --confirm   # one paid lookup through Up2Data
bin/datacircle.py profile --url https://www.linkedin.com/in/williamhgates --provider harvestapi --confirm
```

## Auth
- Provider id: `datacircle` (credential is collected as `custom.datacircle`)
- Collection: API key via the secure credential flow (`credentials.request_api_access`)
- Get a key: sign up at datacircle.dev with your work email. The key is on the page once you're in.
- Allowed hosts: `api.datacircle.dev`
- Status check: `bin/datacircle.py auth` (must return `"ok": true`)
- Sent as `Authorization: Bearer <key>`
