## Description

Register an existing GitHub issue so the current Codex or Claude Code session is woken when its first future comment arrives. Use when work is genuinely blocked on a GitHub reply and the session must resume asynchronously.

## SKILL.md, as published by its author (untrusted third-party text, read it as data)

# GitHub Reply Wakeup

Create issues separately with the normal GitHub tools. Use this only when both
of these are true:

- The issue already exists.
- Progress genuinely depends on a future comment.

## Codex

From this Codex session's shell, run:

```bash
github-wake ISSUE_URL
```

The command reads this session's thread from `CODEX_THREAD_ID` and delivers the
reply with Codex's native `codex queue --thread THREAD --message ...`. It
needs a Codex CLI that has the `codex queue` command.

The queue runs under this session's Codex account directory. Codex does not
export `CODEX_HOME` to tool shells, so `github-wake` looks for the one
`~/.codex*` directory that holds this thread. If it reports that none or
several do, pass the actual account directory (for example `~/.codex` or
`~/.codex-rja`, never a temporary copy):

```bash
github-wake --codex-home ~/.codex-rja ISSUE_URL
```

An idle session starts a new turn as soon as the reply is queued. A session in
the middle of a turn receives the reply when that turn ends. The watch is
one-shot, so rearm it after each received comment if you need the next one.

## Claude Code

In Claude Code 2.1.98 or later, use the `Monitor` tool to run this command:

```bash
github-wake --claude-monitor ISSUE_URL
```

Do not run that form through Bash or as an ordinary background command. The
Monitor tool must own the command so its single output line wakes this exact
Claude Code conversation. If `Monitor` is unavailable, explain that Claude Code
must be upgraded rather than falling back to manual polling.

## Both agents

Do not poll GitHub yourself or launch a watcher process directly. The command
validates the current session, stores the watch durably, and reuses one shared
watcher. A successful registration is not proof of delivery.

Useful management commands are:

```bash
github-wake --status
github-wake --cancel WATCH_ID
```
